"Good evening, ma'am."
"Good evening, ma'am."
The greetings echoed across the reception as Ruhanika stepped into VR Global Headquarters for the very first time.
The building reflected everything Viaan Rathore was known forβglass walls, polished marble floors, disciplined employees, and an atmosphere where every second mattered.
Phones rang continuously.
Keyboards clicked in perfect rhythm.
People hurried from one meeting room to another, carrying laptops and files.
Everything moved with precision.
For everyone around her, she was simply another elegant woman who had walked into the office.
Maybe a client.
Maybe an investor.
Maybe someone here for an interview.
No one knew that the woman quietly admiring the place was actually seeing her husband's world for the very first time.
The world he had built with years of sleepless nights.
The world that often stole him away from her.
Dr. Ruhanika Viaan Rathore looked around with curious eyes.
"So this is where he spends all his time..."
A small smile found its way onto her lips.
"No wonder he forgets to eat."
Adjusting the pallu of her saree, she walked towards the reception.
"Excuse me."
The receptionist immediately stood up.
"Yes, ma'am. How may I help you?"
"I wanted to meet Mr. Viaan Rathore."
"Could you please tell me where his cabin is?"
"Certainly, ma'am."
"The CEO's cabin is on the fifth floor... Room Number Twenty-Six."
Twenty-six.
Her smile widened.
"Of course."
"It had to be twenty-six."
She softly laughed to herself.
"The man who celebrates his birthday on 26th May really couldn't resist making twenty-six a part of his office too."
"Pagal..."
The receptionist looked at her, slightly confused by the smile that appeared out of nowhere.
Ruhanika thanked her and walked towards the elevators.
Just then...
"Excuse me, ma'am."
She turned around.
"May I know your name?"
"And... do you have an appointment with Mr. Rathore?"
The question was polite.
Professional.
Exactly what the receptionist was supposed to ask.
Ruhanika nodded.
"Of course."
"I'm Dr. Ruhanika Viaan Rathore..."
"...and I'm here to meet my husband."
Silence.
The receptionist blinked twice.
A file slipped from an employee's hands.
Someone almost choked on his coffee.
Another whispered,
"Did... did she just say 'husband'?"
Within seconds, the news travelled across the reception faster than any official email.
"The CEO's wife is here!"
"What?"
"Dr. Ruhanika?"
"Seriously?"
Employees peeked over computer screens.
Managers walked out of their cabins.
Even the security guards exchanged surprised glances.
Everyone had heard stories about her.
But almost no one had ever seen her.
The mysterious doctor who somehow managed to make their strict CEO smile.
The only person who could interrupt his meetings without anyone questioning it.
The woman whose photograph rested quietly on his office desk.
The woman whose name he spoke with an affection no one had ever seen him show anyone else.
And today...
She had walked into his office.
For the first time.
The HR Head hurried towards her.
"Ma'am... you travelled all the way here?"
"You could've informed us. We would've arranged someone to receive you from the airport."
Ruhanika smiled gently.
"I wanted to surprise him."
That single sentence melted every nervous smile around her.
The elevator doors opened with a soft ding.
She stepped inside.
As the lift reached the fifth floor, the doors slowly opened.
The first thing she saw wasn't the luxurious corridor.
It was a large framed wedding photograph hanging proudly on the wall.
She froze.
It was their wedding picture.
Not the one where both were looking at the camera.
The one where Viaan was secretly looking only at her.
Her fingertips gently touched the frame.
"Vihu..."
"Tumne sach mein hamari shaadi ki photo office mein laga di?"
"Iski kya zarurat thi?"
Her eyes became moist.
A smile escaped through her tears.
"Bilkul pagal ho tum..."
"...aur mere hi deewane."
She wiped the corner of her eyes before anyone noticed.
The golden evening sunlight poured through the glass windows, painting the entire corridor in warm hues.
Her heels echoed softly.
Click...
Click...
Click...
Employees quietly stood up as she passed by.
"Good evening, ma'am."
"Good evening."
She smiled at each of them.
There was warmth in her smile.
No arrogance.
No attitude.
Just kindness.
Some couldn't believe that this gentle woman was the wife of the man everyone feared during meetings.
As she walked ahead, she couldn't stop looking around.
"This is where he spends twelve... sometimes fourteen hours a day."
"This cabin..."
"These people..."
"This company..."
"This is his second home."
Without even realizing it, she wasn't just walking towards her husband.
She was walking through years of his dreams, struggles, sacrifices, failures, and victories.
Finally...
She stood before the elegant glass cabin.
CEO β Mr. Viaan Rathore
A soft sigh escaped her lips.
"So..."
"This is wh
ere my husband rules the corporate world."
She smiled nervously.
"Doctor Ruhanika..."
"You've handled emergency surgeries."
"You can surely handle meeting your own husband."
Gathering her courage, she gently knocked.
"May I come in, sir?"
